Treacherous Fortunes

or "When is it My Turn to be Happy"

Supplies: 2d6, writing stuffs

You are Theodore Geraltis the 4th. You are a fighter from a famous bloodline of monster slayers. You are brave and strong, with a long and fearsome sword. Your aura of masculinity scares off would-be thieves and you shut down enchantments with your willpower alone.

So you chalk it to the first claws of PTSD as you recall your previous journey and the fates of your party members. How you never could express your appreciation for their hard work. How your heart ached when the ladies would have conversations out of earshot and you remained with the other stone-faced man in camp. And when it was his turn to leave you behind - after everyone else was kidnapped, eaten, or turned - he did so with an expression of joy you've never seen in the mirror. The well-endowed she-devil who enthralled him winked at you as you fled.

And so, Theodore, you return here with a new party:

You're not good with names but you should note some kinda name for each and a general description in case you need to track them down later. Being a tactician, you also note each's respective Courage level (2d6 each).

Your Courage starts at 12, naturally. You're a brave boy. You start with 3 pieces of Equipment not including your sword.

You intend to get further into the dungeon and, if the gods allow, perhaps find something meaningful along the journey.

The Journey

Each part of your journey involves a few steps:

  1. Arrive at a new Location
  2. Note what Encounter you find and its Severity. You may have to fill out some details, as no room in this dungeon should be the same as one prior.
  3. Note what Result ensued and pay the costs.
  4. Repeat

Location (roll 1D6 or choose)

  1. Monster lair (bear cave, spider hovel, dragon lair)
  2. Dumping ground (junkyard, corpse pile, looted storage)
  3. Natural obstacle (chasm, river, lava)
  4. Abandoned dungeon room (trap, machinery, torture facilities)
  5. Beautiful intact building (castle, monastery, vampire great hall)
  6. Respite (campsite, shack, oasis)

Encounter (roll 1D6 or choose)

Severity (roll 1D6)

This represents the amount of Courage necessary to surpass the challenge. An Encounter may lend itself to certain team members - it's likely their Courage is what's at stake.

Roll 2D6 for the Result, accepting one item of that tier:

For each piece of Equipment relevant to the challenge, add 1 to the result.

Tags may include injured, dazed, suggestible, paranoid, petrifying; causing those affected to lose more or less Courage accordingly (and justify worse Results)

6- Lose the full Severity in Courage across any participating team members. A piece of Equipment breaks. A team member's tag noticeably worsens. A team member with 3 or less Courage leaves the party, and you get whatever Courage they had left.

7-9 A team member gets a tag. You clear a tag but a team member loses the full Severity in Courage. Lose half the Severity in Courage (rounding up). Gain 1 Courage but a team member loses 2.

10+ A team member clears a tag. You gain half the Severity in Courage (rounding down). You find a piece of Equipment. Courage may be shifted between team members (not you)

For some reason, while you have team members:

Unless you can justify it this time, losing all of your team members will have you retreat to the surface to try again from the beginning.

One final conundrum

Last time you were here, you noticed how the vibe of the dungeon changed slightly every fifth or so level. The first 5 were a kill-and-loot fest, very much a standard fair. You soon passed to the piles of rotten limbs, terrified statues, and 6ft cocoons. You hit monsters known for turning their victims to grow their ranks. Zombies, vampires, those squid guys that implant parasites in your brain? Your crew were drooling after that encounter with the pollen(?) plants. Then there was that one adventurer that didn't seem to know her extra eyes and hardened skin. Poor bastard got squished in a boulder trap and it felt ironic.

On floor 22, your first party member was fucked to death(?) by a curvaceous woman-shaped slime and the damn thing clone itself three times over.

There was one encounter that stands out the most. It wasn't even that hard for you - 4 sirens, 1 sword swing. But you still hear their song. Of impossible hopes. Of freedom. Of being accepted into a sisterhood because that's where you belong....

You will not give it further thought.

You're Theodore, you're a man, now get out there and kill something!

HOT SLIMEGIRLS IN YOUR AREA

I've been titillated by weird horny DeviantArt monster tgtf (transgender transformation) art for like a decade and finally have something to show for it.

Fun fact: The MC's name abbreviates to TGTF.

Consider the following (tame but NSFW):

Closing thoughts: transbien sex slime tf (not tame, NSFW). I saw this and a few others and it's definitely top 5 most God I wish that were me moments and that holds true to me writing this now.

YMMV if you mention any part of this to me irl because on the one hand I will squirm and on the other I can't promise I won't enjoy it.
